(Microsoft fonts are available through the AUR repository, not the main one. If it is not already the case, you’ll need to activate AUR in the Remove/Add Software: click the 3 dots menu and select Preferences, click the AUR tab and activate it. You’re good to go, search for te packages and install/build them with a couple clicks.)

Microsoft has some really great fonts. To install them on Manjaro, you can search for ttf-ms to list most the available packages — and there are a lot of them… without much information available:

A list of most but not all Microsoft fonts

The good news is that if you’re looking for the most commonly used Windows and Microsoft Office fonts, you need only two packages:

  • ttf-ms-fonts, which among many fonts, contains Arial, Times New Roman, verdana and the mandatory Comic Sans MS.
  • ttf-vista-fonts, which offers Microsoft’s Calibri, Cambria, Consolas and so on (I find those really great).
